I’m struggling to find a title for what I do. Social Media Consultant is totally abused, and to me the term ‘Consultant’ just means ‘I sell bullshit’. Besides, almost every other person on twitter is now a social media consultant, guru, strategist, or advisor. And eventually you’ll find out that I’m not your average social media consultant. I don’t have an iPhone nor do I worship Steve Jobs, I don’t speak jargon, I don’t tweet around the clock, and I especially don’t hang out at Fat Burger or go to watch Transformers.
But stereotypes aside, and consultants aside, we’re left with Social and Media. We could have taken ‘Social’ out as we’ve all really been social ever since we were monkeys, but the only problem is not everyone knows how to show their social side or break the ice with their audience in the digital sphere. So my role is to really help us social monkeys to break the ice. That’s what it’s all about: breaking the digital ice between people or companies and their audiences. Although pick up lines are not my best talent, but I’m a good social networker and I know how to listen, and I believe that is what makes me different. ‘Media’ stays, because it’s about all the online tools that were made to be very simple for everybody to use, yet most find intimidating to say the least.
From here, I feel Social Media Ice Breaker is appropriate but maybe a bit cheesy, what do you think?

My 2012 Resolutions

Apart from having enough discipline to maintain this blog, I do have few resolutions for the new year.

Make tons of creative work and money
My new business Cactix is picking up fast it seems. I resolve to be more focused and responsive. The rest is details.

Quit shisha, street racing, KFC, and credit cards
These are but a few of my bad habits. Shisha, once in a full moon. Racing on track only. Complete boycott of junk food. No more swiping.

3000 Followers on Twitter
Almost a minimum for someone in the social media business. Klout score should hit 40.

Learn how to make music, throw a party and be the DJ
It’s already super-addictive now. I aim at releasing a single which could be a dark house remix of a classical wtih cryptic vocals

Speak fluent French
In my recent stay in Paris I realised my French is very good, and suddenly becomes perfect when I’m tipsy. I resolve to stay drunk.

Appear in a local magazine, as a model
No it’s not a joke. It’s a challenge. I want to poke the eyes of those who think I look like a dead horse.
